He was nominated by Governor Albert Bryan Jr. and confirmed by the U.S Virgin Islands Senate on September 25th, 2020, to serve as a member of The University of the Virgin Islands Research Technology Park Board of Directors.
About UVI Research Park and Technology
The University of the Virgin Islands Research and Technology Park (RTPark) is an economic development program that specializes in technology and knowledge-based business attraction in the United States Virgin Islands (USVI). It was established in 2002 and secured its first client in 2006. This program is a partnership between the private sector, the government of the US Virgin Islands, and the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI). The leaders of the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI)and members of the legislature and the private sector work closely together to make this program viable. UVI Research Park's purpose was to create a platform for stimulating growth/development and for diversifying the USVI economy. The RTPark program headquarters is located on the island of St Croix. Their mission is to establish the USVI as the premier business destination of choice for firms in knowledge and technology-intensive sectors.
Ian is a successful Technology Entrepreneur and philanthropist, donating his time and resources to several Virgin Islands initiatives such as Queen Louise Home, VIEDA Program EntrePreNow and WTJX. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and an Associate Degree in Data Processing from the University of the Virgin Islands. Mr. Tomlison is Co-Owner and Founder of OmniSystems Inc. and has 35 years of experience in systems engineering, software development, systems integration, telephony, and as a Chief Executive.
